The story was very good and interesting, but some of the twists were too much. Could also use some heavy edits.

This book had some beautiful excerpts and I loved elements of the storyline. But overall, I found it to be too long, too wordy, and overly trite. I was disappointed, but glad I stuck it out to the end. Worth reading, but not one I can wholeheartedly recommend.

I enjoyed this book. The historical context was interesting, and the sense of magic was lovely. Some details detracted- Almost all of the male characters read as permutations on the same person, for example. I would've liked some better character development all around, but the world building was still lovely.
