Thank you to Kensington for a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.

This may be my new favorite cozy mystery series. The vibes are perfect, but NOT boring.

Unfortunately the second one wasn't as good as the first. The pacing seemed a little slower and I caught myself not really listening to the audiobook at times, which led to more re-listening of parts than I'd prefer. It's still a decent story although the relationships got a bit convoluted in my opinion.

I liked the first one, but reading this one made me realize what an arc the author is planning and executing! The first book introduced our charming if silly heroine, her world, and the many characters of New Bison. The second has launched a riveting conspiracy that had me gasping at the last twenty pages as a few of the pieces started to come together about who the mastermind behind all of the town’s troubles may actually be. I’m going to have to put a note on my calendar for when the sequel comes out next year to remind me of just how many balls are in the air that are sure to come crashing down (wonderfully, murderously) in book three.

The best kind of “happy for now” ending a murder mystery can have, I think. Solved for now … real and final answers still to come!

Another cute cozy mystery that makes me want to bake! I enjoyed this one more than the first. Some details I felt were missing in the first (like the main characters age) were included and made Maddy feel more fleshed out. There’s still some unsolved mysteries that seem like a set up for another book so looking forward to returning to New Bison!
