i was so excited to read this because i waited 8 months for it! this series's biggest draw is its characters--they're well-rounded and a found family, which i always love. this series's biggest drawback (for me) are the plotholes, lack of closure, and a biiiit too much silliness. i love silliness, but sometimes it goes overboard. and i still have questions from book 1 that were not answered with book 2, and i think that's less on purpose and more because of the plotholes. i will be reading the 3rd one.

I enjoyed this so much. Great entry into the series and a fantastic second book. Maddy is growing as a baker and business owner and I like that the mysteries are overlapping there's a larger more sinister thing at play just waiting for Maddy and her friends who are now more like family to figure out. I hope there will be a book three. Thanks to Kensington and NetGalley for granting me access to an early reader copy.
