I listened to the audiobook. I enjoy this series and love listening to Ryan West's narration of the series.

This book can easily be read without reading/listening to the previous books in the series. In fact, it may just be the enticement needed to start at the beginning of the series.

I will say, if BDSM and/or D/s relationships offend you, don't bother with the Masters and Mercenaries series.

I could not see how Derek and Karina were ever going to become a cohesive unit, until I did. Derek was so rigid, I couldn't see him getting out of his own way. Karina was a lot more flexible. I thought they had great chemistry.

Derek's ex-wife was awful. I wanted him to shut her down in a much stronger way than he did. I think I liked the way Marina handled her much better.

At one point, if the killer had been anyone other than the person I thought it was, I would have been shocked. The most of the reasoning behind what the killer did was surprising, but not as much who else was involved.

I also enjoyed Alex, Liam, Eve, Sean, and Adam's appearances. One thing you can count on with the McKay Taggert gang and their cohorts, is cleverness, sarcasm, and humour.

Based on Lexi Blake's other books in the series, this was a fairly short listen, but no less enjoyable. I am going to have to use up my credits on the other .5 novellas in the series.

Short and to the point.

Dungeon Games is just another novella I devoured in the 1001 Dark Nights series. In it, you will meet Derek and Karina. Just like in every other novella in this series, these two had great chemistry. I mean, it would suck donkey balls if they didn't right?

Now I never knew about the Master and Mercenaries series... and after diving into this little novella - I might find this thing out. It was pretty interesting to see these too try to catch a serial killer because I have a weird obsession with murder mysteries (so sign me up!). Overall, it was a surprise and I think my favorite character might've been the one we were supposed to hate the entire time? Eh, oh well!

5 Derek & Karina Stars.

With the glimpses of our main characters in previous books my curiosity for this book was high. What I can say that this is a positively delightful, mouthwatering, emotional, adorable, breathtaking journey that we are taken on.

There are on the hunt for a serial killer. Derek and Karina must put their differences aside. Although their differences are actual their fears of getting too close to one another and blindly trusting the one person you can’t live without.

Through clues that the serial killer has left behind they know who the next target will be. Karina Mills. Derek is livid with this information. Especially when she was hoping to be the target. They go undercover at one of the other BDSM clubs to try and catch the serial killer. They spend most of the time at the club Kink.

Once again we have a fantastic plot with some twists and turns. If you want a nail biting book then this is the book for you as well. I fully admit I had difficulties with this at the beginning. So I put it on hold and went to another book came back to this one and was soon was sucked in.

Karina and Derek are great main characters. What they have together is beautiful. They both were married but Damon was being blinded by his ex-wife and what she did. Karina wasn’t entirely sure how to let go of the past. Karina is strong you know how strong she has been for.

Five thousand four hundred and seventy nine days. Karina has my greatest respect.

Karina understands Derek more than he knows.

He hurt. He ached. When he closed his eyes, he went to Hell.

I just love a man with OCD tendencies.

“Please tell me they’re cleaning up.” “I have a box of antibacterial wipes in my kit.” He fully intended to use them. “Is it wrong that I find it sexy when you clean things?” Her eyes sparkled. She was a flipping jewel in the middle of a trash heap.

Derek had to take those glasses off to have a deeper look beyond the surface. Derek’s jealously went too far even if his ex is a shark and an equal opportunity gal. But Karina still gets her good.

This is one of the most luscious, scrumptious, scorching series that I have read. And a must read to continue it. It just keeps on getting stronger and stronger.

One of my favorite parts out of the book.

Alex and Eve were adopting? That was nice. Maybe a passel of babies would calm the group down. Or just another generation of evil geniuses.

When what you need is right in front of you!!

Since meeting both Derek and Karina earlier in the M&M series, the sexual tension and chemistry between these two has clearly off the charts.. and when they are forced together because Karina is the next target of a serial killer who is murdering Submissives, that chemistry ignites and is WHITE HOT!! Both Karina and Derek have pasts that have influenced their view on the world, but they begin to learn that perhaps they need to change their views and see that perhaps the person they need the most has been right in front of them all along!
