I don't think I really liked this book all that much, but it was addicting in its own way. With 10 main characters, it was hard to keep track of who was who and which character had done what. I didn't find any of the characters to be particularly likable, sympathetic, or well-rounded either. I kept reading in hopes that the book would get better, and it never really did. The killer was the person I thought was the most likely suspect, and still, the motivations were not super clear. I will say it was a quick read, though.

I enjoyed this murder romp probably more than I should. I didn't think I would enjoy the quick deaths of so many teenagers, but apparently I do! I think the joy for me in this was that no one seemed safe. As soon as I pegged a character to be the one that lives, BAM, they were dead.
Would give to anyone, but def geared toward older teens.

This YA retelling of the Agatha Christie classic, And Then There Were None (but with teenage American influencers instead of a hodgepodge of old British people), was such a fun book. I reread ATTWN right before reading it, and Williams did a great job capturing and twisting the subtle details of each murder to mirror the original while creating unique characters who had each done terrible things and were being punished. I knew who the murderer was early on, but I still wanted to see what would happen (and who would die and how) next. Get this one to read on the beach/at the pool and never, ever accept a free trip to an island.

Too scary for me…

I wish I could give this 3.5!!!

It got me out of my reading rut (it’s a classic whodunnit) and a fun, easy read.

It was a bit cheesy but an interesting take on technology/social media and revenge.

This was by far the best retelling of And Then There Were None I’ve come across! When ten successful influencers are invited to spend a free week at a luxurious resort on a private island, they can’t refuse. Social media is going crazy for “Unknown Island”, a tropical paradise only for people under the age of 21. When the guests arrive, the island does not meet their expectations. They receive letters that let them know that they have not been selected for their following, but for the secrets they’ve been keeping.

I am not exaggerating when I say I was hooked! I can’t stop thinking about it. The setting, the premise, and the characters were just perfect. I liked being able to read each character’s perspective and try to figure out the puzzle. It was so hard to guess who was behind the whole thing and I can honestly say I was surprised by that last chapter. This was one of the most shocking and thrilling books I’ve read.

Special thanks to NetGalley, Kate Williams, and Delacorte Press for the eARC.
