Much like the first book in this trilogy, I found this to be ... okay. I do like that the three books are all the same season, told from different perspectives and with different couples. The stories are distinct enough that each book really informs the others. But I also took a month-long break about 44% through this book because it was just. Boring.

I also finished this a few days ago, and immediately jumped into #3, so I feel like I'm not going to do this justice. Plus Matt and I were in the middle of a fight so. Not feeling so romantic.

Anyway. We meet Mandie and Dylan G in the first book, and so some of the broad strokes of them are already known - mainly that DG is rigged to be the winner, and Mandie at least is desperately in love with her. Much like the first book, this is told entirely from Mandie's POV, so Dylan is more of an idea than a true character. I wish both this and the first book we got a Dylan's POV as well. While the only-having-conversations-in-my-head isn't as much of a problem, you spend a lot of time with Mandie, wondering is Dylan even likes women. Especially with the NDA and contract, I think the book is missing some of that internal struggle, and love triumphant.

Mandie is struggling to get over a crappy break-up at the beginning of the book, so the slow-burn for her and Dylan makes a certain amount of sense. Plus the pandemic of it all. You get some of her mechanic job, but obviously not a ton in the actual story - wouldn't it have been fun to see more of the guys she works with? And she decides not to come out on the show at first, which makes sense, until it doesn't.

Seeing as I've already finished the third book, I think I can firmly put this one in the "eh - good concept, not all that interesting to read" pile and be done with it.

Two dating show contestants fall for each other

This was so fluffy and cute and exactly what I needed. Totally bingable and sunshiney. I do think the beginning dragged a bit for me and was quite repetitive but after the 40% mark I was really invested then towards the end it was slow again, like an Oreo, the middle is the best part. I also wish we got Dylans POV it would've definitely upped my rating. But it was just quick and fun and I liked all the characters.

Not the biggest fan of the characters in this but liked the premise, would be interested to read more books from this author to see if this trends!
