A delightful, charming friends-to-lovers sapphic romance between two contestants on a Bachelor-esque dating show. McAlister really nails the friends-to-lovers dynamic and I loved how much care, warmth, and passion there was between Mandie and Dylan. It's funny, smart, and would make a perfect vacation read but it also has a real emotional core as Mandie learns to value herself and what she has to give in a relationship. I tore through this in a day and, as much as I enjoyed book one, felt like this one was a leveling up.

I'm a little impatient to get to Lily and Murray's book so when I realised this was book 2, not 3, I may have groaned a little. that doesn't mean I didn't like this one, I did absolutely love it! (and yes I loved also that we got to see a few more hints of of Lily and Murray...)

Mandie and Dylan (not to be confused with Romeo-Dylan) were amazing. I loved that they met at the audition and became friends, so already knew each other and were close before they came on the show. and I loved that having read book 1 I knew what Dylan's little semi-mysterious remarks were referring to and the inevitable angst it would result in, and it was so satisfying when it did. Mandie I have a particular soft spot for - we didn't see much of her in book 1 given that she left the Villa very late, but what we did see I liked, and here we get all of her in her full glory. I love that she's a mechanic, that she's femme, that she's into butches, but also Dylan (who isn't butch), that she's a whole, complex person. her growth was so good and how she and Dylan came together in the end and everything and I just, gah. I loved this. raced through it. 10/10 etc.
