Heartbreaking novel.

If he had been with me was an emotional rollercoaster full of love, friendship, family drama, loss, and so many realistic characters. I loved the miscommunication in this. It felt authentic and not forced. The love between our two main characters felt so raw and real but the author tortured us with minimal amounts of it. Perfect.

4/5 stars. Loved the story but had a hard time connecting and relating with our main character from my time in high school.

This....This broke my heart. I knew it was coming, but I still was hopeful it was a dream. I am so glad she got the time with him that she did, though. And she got something else out of their little relationship too.
