AT LAST!!!!! OMG I was so exhausted after this third book. I'm not really going to review the other two. unfortunately I was waiting to read the whole trilogy. but goodness I was exhausted when it was all done. I started this trilogy because the first line seemed to pull in everyone "I was not sorry my brother died. Nor am I apologizing for my callousness, as you may define it, my lack of feeling" I agree it is a line that gets your attention. I get it that it was because her brother's death gave her an opportunity to be educated, but I mean in the end I was confused about whether it was actually fair the way he died. I mean he had "annoying" attitude and character traits and any of those could have led to his death and then the readers like me would have felt it was a justified death. that aside, Tambu had one hard time after another, there was no lasting victory, why? why? why? why create such a difficult life for someone? and her mother was so exasperating. I was starting to wonder whether everything was like that for Tambu because her mother said she wouldn't succeed as a girl going after education. there was also too much of every single part of the books. too much words, too much, too much. it made reading very tiring. and why did this particular one have the voice in third person?? that's not even how the first two were, I was very distressed.
