Storytelling book so of course I loved it. I was late in finishing this book for book club but Our discussion encouraged me to finish it. I listened to part of the audiobook but it was way too slow. My favorite part was the connections between families and friends. Love six degrees of separation.

A beautiful story, but I didn’t like it as much as The Kite Runner or A Thousand Splendid Suns. The fact that it is told through 9 unique perspectives from 9 individual characters (no repeats) makes it feel a tad disjointed.

Not necessarily the story I was expecting from Hosseini yet here I am grateful ad ever for his wonderful, soul touching prose. There are a lot more characters and so many layering stories that all intertwine in this novel and though it sometimes takes a while to catch onto who the new chapter focuses on, all of it is just right. When I closed the book, I felt at ease, I felt a sense that I had really lived with these characters and learned who they are. Absolutely spectacular. There’s a little something for everyone in this book.

What a magnificent story teller. The characters completely come alive for me. And the narrators on the audiobook were fantastic.
