this book made me gained so much respect to the women who served in the war but didn't get much attention from people.
i'm not an american, but war absolutely hits most of people at that time in a pretty similar way, where women didn't get as much respect as men. biggest condolences to the families and friends of the veterans who had fallen and never got the chance to go back home.

Morally or the story: you’re Barbie and he’s just Ken…
I had a feeling that neither Jamie or Rye were actually dead… I liked the reunion at the end with Jamie but also would’ve been perfectly content with her not finding Jamie again. I view it more of a two vets that went through hell and back living their lives together not necessarily them turning into lovers but I think that takes away from the story. I think the only reason why I have this a 4.25 and not a 5 was because of the subplot with Rye after the war. I get that it was used as a catalyst for Frankie hitting rock bottom but damn it was a bit annoying
