Did the most dramatic and illogical teenager write this? I’m so sorry, but it’s so bad. Stop the presses, cancel publishing, fire the editor kind of bad. At one point
one of the girls is kidnapped to be a drug mule but she’s magically rescued the next day by the world’s most meek teenage girl
and none of this even lent anything to the plot. Both of the main characters were awful and beyond annoying. The best part of the book is the end, when it’s openly acknowledged that if the main character had used her brain for one single second, literally none of this nonsense would’ve ever happened.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC.

A pair of runaways and a killer vintage mustang, this thriller holds a slow burn romance to die for. We follow two very different characters in the form of Jessie and Brooke, with a shared mission of leaving town that leads to them joining forces for the road trip of a life time.

Genre-wise, a thriller-romance is new territory for me but I absolutely loved it, combined with a coming of age arc for our characters this is perfect for fans of authors like Casey McQuiston. It's gritty, from the drama of untouched crushes, to the traumas of adverse childhood experiences such as domestic violence and emotional abuses.

Compared to Thelma and Louise, our teenage duo put their foot on the pedal cross-country with cops and other sinister characters on their tail and from the romantic tension to not knowing where the next twist would take you this was a truly unput-downable read.
