You Don't Know Me is another of Susan May Warren's Deep Haven books. I also read her The Shadow of your Smile book from the Deep Haven Series, and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Annalise Decker is the perfect wife, and mother. The model citizen. Her husband feels like because he hasn't had a perfect life that he needs her to be perfect, and really relies on her perfect persona to help clean up his tarnished past. However, he doesn't realize that hers is so much more tarnished, and coming back to haunt all of them.

This book has mystery, intrigue, and on the edge of your seat drama. This book is in keeping with the Deep Haven series that will have you intrigued with this little town, and having you turning the pages rather quickly. While she does mention the family from her previous book as background characters, they do not play a significant role. So you can totally read this without having read the other. But it will make you antsy to find out more about the other citizens of Deep Haven, and you can then pick up the other book!

Awesome conclusion to this series. I always enjoy WITSEC stories, and this one was really good. Great characters, and this one had more suspense than the rest of the series.

This is not the first book I’ve read by Susan May Warren (I reviewed The Shadow of Your Smile earlier this year and loved that one!) and I highly doubt it will be the last. She has a beautiful way of drawing in the reader and enabling them to make connections to the characters in such a way that you are not only vested in the story, but desire to maintain that connection. This title is the 6th book of the Deep Haven series. I love knowing that beloved characters could make another appearance in a subsequent book. Also, the town of Deep Haven becomes a place you long to visit and experience first hand.

When I read the prologue, I wasn’t sure how much I would like the story. The idea of a mother going to say good-bye to her daughter and not knowing if she’d had the strength to do so really tugged at my own heartstrings. Reading later that a real life encounter with a woman on a plane going to see her child for the last time before entering the witness protection program, I wasn’t surprised that Ms. Warren could take that situation and mold an engaging story.

What really struck home for me when reading this novel is how those secrets we keep to protect those we love can end up tearing apart relationships. Another theme that came across to me was the compulsion to do things that we believe will make us look better to others. In the end, we only need to live life as God calls us to live it. But, it sure is challenging when we think others are watching and judging us.

I, for one, am now anxious to see what her next novel will be as I truly love the experience of being both entertained and contemplating challenging situations in a safe environment.

This was recommended to me a while back, but unfortunately I found it kind of dull and predictable. Not the worst contemporary book by any means, just not very entertaining or engaging.

I have really enjoyed the deep haven series. I love that this one had a bit of mystery to it.

An excellent Christian novel. A little slow in places, and prone to the usual Christian novel flaws, but the last 80 pages had me riveted.

This book was not at all what I thought it would be. Percentage-wise, it was far more family-drama and romance than action/suspense. However, I really enjoyed it. Even though it was on the slower side for a lot of it, I loved getting to know the Deckers. I enjoyed reading about main characters in a similar life stage to me. It felt much more relatable than a lot of the Christian fiction where the characters are in their 20s.

I also enjoyed the action/suspense pages, I just wish there were more of them.

I can honestly say that I have never read a book about someone in the Witness Protection Program and to take the viewpoint of both the member in the program and the family members they leave behind is smart and unique. As the reader, I felt that Annalise's actions and feelings were true to someone who was trying to start anew and wanting to leave her past in the past. Unfortunately for her, her past gets out of jail and wants to seek revenge.

Love love love. Shocking riveting read that has all my love.

This was an okay read. A little on the cheesy side and the climax was.... not? But I did enjoy the characters and was intrigued enough to see the book through to the finish.
