I absolutely love this series! It’s a fantastically gorey good time! And while I think Phantasma was a bit more gross, I think Enchantra was a tad more emotionally distressing. The family dynamic of the game was kind of tragic—I did love the family angle though and all of the new characters it introduced! Obviously Rowin is at the top of that list—SWOON—but I’m pretty excited about
Sevin being the lead in the next book.
I also absolutely loved Genevieve and her bold chaotic self! And that Rowin gave her the space to be authentically herself without trying to dim her light. Of the two books, I think this one was definitely more romantic.

WOW. I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. When we follow new characters I’m always worried it won’t vibe with me the same way. Phantasma is lightning in a bottle but Enchantra was truly unique and I loved the twists and turns in the story. I can see where the author is going and I truly love her writing style and want more and more books from her. Bring it on. A magical ride that was endearing, thrilling, exciting and heartwarming.

This was my most anticipated release of the year, and it did NOT disappoint!

Our FMC, Genevieve, accidentally enters The Hunt, a Hunger Games for demons after receiving an invitation on her late mother's behalf to visit the Enchantra household. The opposing participants of this annual “game”, including the unwelcoming and brooding MMC, Rowin, face being dragged to hell for the next year of their life as they are eliminated. Genevieve however, has much higher stakes in store as a mortal, losing for her would mean a certain and permanent death. In addition to participating in these deadly trials, the MCs are forced into a marriage, despite their immediate distaste for each other, and must learn to work together when their life forces become entwined.

I loved every twist, turn and trope in this book! The characters were very well written, and I really enjoyed how thoroughly developed each of the family members were, considering side characters usually don't get as much attention. I would say that this felt slightly less spicy than Phantasma, or perhaps it just seemed that way because it was more condensed to the final portion of the book and a slower burn overall. I was very satisfied with the ending, definitely not where I was expecting it to go, and eagerly looking forward to the release of Book 3!

I read Phantasma last month for a book club, and though the genre is not my preferred, I really enjoyed the book. So obviously when I heard a 2nd one was coming out, it went straight to my TBR. Enchantra follows Ophelia's sister on her journey, similar to Book 1, but also so different. I enjoyed that the "game" was so different but also similar to Phantasma. I will say, overall I think I like Ophelia more, but this was a great story and Vivi's story is worth a read if you enjoyed Phantasma!

I listened to the audiobook copy of this title and I have to admit that I found it fun. Another game, different stakes, new players with just a hint of Ophelia and Salem in the background.
Vivi and Rowin definitely had chemistry.  And I do like a fiesty, smart mouthed FMC.  The siblings were interesting and the whole time I was thinking they needed their own books.
In all honesty, this is a good middle book in a trilogy.  I’m not sure where the next book will take this story but I’m always willing to find out.
I received an ALC of this title, all opinions are my own.

I do feel like this book was heavily inspired by that horror movie where the family plays a dangerous game of hide and seek. And I did feel the world in Phantasm was a bit more scary and inspired than the second book. I also just didn't like Genevieve and Rowin as much as I liked Ophelia and Salem. Genevieve was a bit frustrating at first. I understood why she wasn't happy with her situation to begin with, but I felt after her experience in the first book she'd understood what it would take to survive. As the book progressed though, I liked her better and I did like the dynamic between her and Rowin. I really liked that Rowin actually listened to the things that mattered to Vivi and I even liked his weird family. So despite the drawbacks, I'd still recommend this book.

3,5⭐️
In general I liked it better than Phantasma. The twist at the end was done better (imo) and it had less plot holes. I really liked Genevieve as our FMC! And the trials here were described better. The book was better structured than the first and I enjoyed it more than expected 😊
The MMC seems a mix of all the current romantasy shadow-daddies MMCs, but he knows how to use them haha.

The over use of italics through the book was too much, can’t get over it 🙈

I have been frothing at the mouth for the follow up to Phantasma since I ripped open my BOTM box up on arrival and read it in one sitting last year. Enchantra was equally amazing, my husband had to pry it from my cold fingers at 2am so I could catch a few hours of sleep before work. Loved Vivi and Rowin, and the Hunt, and I am OBSESSED with Umbra. 🦊
