This book was nowhere near what I expected but it was amazing. I love the way it was done and that so many authors were really able to clearly see the characters and shine light on some of their more shadowy parts. Definitely worth the read.

I really enjoyed this novel! It truly delves into Cassandra Clare's world, and gives understanding to how we all view it based on scientific and fan basis'. Plus I adored the story between Cassie, Holly, & Kelly! Super cute!

Though I did not expect this book to be essays about the Shadowhunter books, there were several that I really enjoyed. It was interesting to take a look at some of the different tropes and writing mechanics that Cassandra Clare used in her stories rather than simply enjoy the plot. A few of the authors wrote such funny and thoughtful essays that I now want to look into reading their own books and seeing how their voices come through their own stories and characters.

I thought that all of these authors were amazing writers. I don't have many people that I can talk to about this, so I really liked hearing the opinions of others. Also I thought it was nice that each author wrote about something different about The Mortal Instruments because it wasn't like reading 13 essays all about the same thing. Each author took a subject and branched off into related topics that could still be drawn back to The Mortal Instruments which I liked alot.
