I know that Creep and Freak are considered stand alones, however I would NOT read anything about Freak until you've read Creep as you'll be completely spoiled.

With that said, I LOVED Creep, so I was super excited to dive almost immediately into Freak. I definitely loved it, but not quite as much as Creep.

Freak was more of a detective style novel, which isn't always my favorite.

And can we talk about that ending?! I thought I had it figured out, and I kind of did....until I didn't.

2 stars and that's me feeling generous. WOW after Creep (which I finished yesterday), this was truly awful. Definitely my least favorite book by this author. The narration was annoying due to Jerry's voice (I won't post spoilers from Creep). I definitely would not have finished this book if I didn't borrow the audiobook. I have *really* wanted to read The Butcher for a couple years now but A) it's hard to get my hands on through my library and B) I don't want to invest any more time in this series. Good grief I wasted part of my life reading this and sincerely regret it.

3.5: creep was better. I love Jennifer Hillier's writing and stories but not the characters so much (except in The Butcher) so I'm not surprised I thought Creep was better. This was still good though.

quite a bit more predictable than creep. hillier has said that they can be read in any order, but i wouldn’t recommend reading this before creep!

i found this book soooo slow to get started. and once i finally did i was more then halfway thru. somewhere around chapter 30 i found myself reading it because i wanted to and not because i was forcing myself. then the last few chapters were kinda boring again. i was highly disappointed after reading creep and it being SO good.
