Was on a bit of a Gotham kick after seeing "Birds of Prey" and realized I had bought this ages ago and never read it. Sometimes the highly recommended Batman stories are too randomly violent or weird or nostalgic and simply don't live up to the hype but this was great.

(The five stars is on a "Batman graphic novel" scale and not an "All books scale" so if you don't have any interest in the Caped Crusader then this isn't going to be something you enjoy.)

3.75 - Good
I was expecting a more developed version of James Gordon Jr, but I wouldn't say the version given was disappointing. Witty dialogue and text flows nicely. I appreciate that the story doesn't shy away from the real grit and gore of Gotham.

Alles in allem - sehr lesenswert.

Inconsistent. The Francavilla stuff was stronger.

This story arc breathed new life into Batman, for me personally. The character of Gordon's son presented a character who teetered just on the edge of insanity in a way that called to mind some of the great Joker stories (Namely Killing Joke). The Francavilla art was particular a highlight.
