Honestly in this book even what they did is wrong they definitely didn't deserve this ending. Especially Lochan didn't deserve what he got at the end, I mean he was really trying for everyone in their family and he had such big burden on his back by having to parent three younger siblings all the while he had mental health problems. I don't know this book just left me feeling sad at the end, because kids had to pay for consequences of their parents (Lochan sacrifes himself, other siblings lose brother). at the end Lochan had to take his life to protect them while their mother lived and just continued her life while his was just starting so I just think he really didn't deserve that. Like I said even it was wrong their relationship I kinda get why they felt more like lovers than siblings, they never had parents, role models, they only had themselves and acted like parents so they really didn't know better and I blame parents, adults for that.

Bro I ate this thing up. How is this YA? This stuff was rough. Poor kids.

I found myself rooting for the two of them even though. yknow. You want them to be happy!!! The family needs to stay together!!! That pivotal moment the reader has been waiting for yet dreading is when shit hits the fan and it hurt so bad.

I really enjoyed the writing. Nothing really felt cringey (which is hard to find, personally, when reading romance novels, especially ones that depict sex) so big thanks for that.

I wish there was less focus on their physical desire as it got repetitive and instead a greater look into their emotional dependency due to parental abandonment. It was touched on a few times but I was vaguely dissatisfied.

While reading this book I gotta say it was pretty boring. At least sixty percent of it felt like filler.

It’s another book over four hundred pages that just didn’t make me feel anything. I couldn’t find where I was supposed to get emotional at? Like I didn’t even feel disgust because of how comical everything is written. Just nothing. To feel nothing for a book that’s supposed to shock me is a failure on the author.

I also got to the ending and rolled my eyes it’s such a predictable cop out with the way the story was going.

Im a bit conflicted because I am uncomfortable with the overt romanticization that this novel gives in its themes but I want to give this book a fair literary review anyway. It feels almost like a defense for incestuous relationships. While this isn't the first novel I've ever read that features a relationship like this (*cough* flowers in the attic) it is the first one I've read to write it as if it is somehow... desirable? It's a strange approach. It almost feels as if it was written JUST to be taboo, there doesn't feel like there really is any other point to it other than to be shocking. The epilogue also feels a but unnecessary.
The kids spent a lot of time talking about how wrong their relationship was and what the consequences could be only to keep on doing it anyway, and the consequences they did receive felt more like a reprieve or an escape than a punishment.
