Baby be so for real right now. Who tf is giving this book any stars? I’d give it 0 if I could.

I found this an easy read and a good level of spice! Have an open mind or don't read it! It's not really there for the plot and there are some heavy themes (check trigger warnings!) But overall a good read that I got hooked on.

2.75 ⭐️ This was repetitive, predictable and rushed. It was fun in some parts, but mostly just wild and no amount of suspension of reality could make me feel truly invested in this book. Honestly just here for the Prince & Cas subplot.

This is a dark stepbrother Cinderella retelling. Tropes include why choose, taboo love, mental health representation and revenge. The spice, of which there is a lot, includes F/M, M/M and group. See content warnings as this story (more than the romance) is quite dark.
The Lovely: I loved the stepbrothers and their relationship with the FMC (no blood relation, nor did they grow up together). The stepbrothers are loyal, caring, protective and hot 🥵. The FMC comes to the situation having already experienced her own trauma that she’s never dealt with in a safe manner.
Also Lovely: I also loved the pacing and tension of this story, especially the second half. The second half is also where the story turns quite dark. I liked the twists and turns on the way to the ending.
Rating: 4/5 Stars 4/5 Flames
Recommendation: This was a satisfying read, especially with the why choose romance and the dark elements. I appreciated how the story pulled in the Cinderella tale as I always love a good fairytale retelling. If you like why choose contemporary romance with a dark dark story, I think you would like this book.

It’s been five years since Ember lost her mother to cancer, and her father started to slowly drifted away. One afternoon Ember is greeted home by her father and his new wife, Odette, who she didn’t know existed. Adding to Ember’s shock and surprised, Odette brings with her four new step brothers, Prince, Cas, Oct and Kit, for Ember.
Ember finds herself surrounded by her new stepbrothers, their obsession with her is shocking, it seems they have had plenty of time to get use to the idea of a step sister and it turns out they want her to be theirs.
When Ember’s world comes crashing down around her yet again, she finds herself left with her stepbrothers and an evil stepmother, but this time she’s not alone, to face the sorrow, she can get through anything as long as she has her bothers.

Loved this. These brothers are everything. They make me wish I had step brothers
