3.5 stars. The storyline was good, but a few things I didn’t like:
Too many neighbors/couples in the circle- I couldn’t keep them straight
I felt the sister Nina versus previous homeowner Nina causing Alice to be so obsessed with the murder was a bit odd.
Overall, it was average.

I can't believe how many times toward the end there, I thought we had revealed the killer and we still hadn't gotten there.

I hate to admit that I haven’t read a book by B.A. Paris before! I know crazy right! Well this has now been rectified and I have to say I have definitely been missing out. What a fabulous story teller she is. The Therapist was a great introduction to her work and I need more. Until then, back to this book. Whilst I did find it moved at a slightly slower pace, it still held my attention and my curiosity was piqued. It is a very character driven story with a mix of likeable and unlikable but, each play out their given roles well. I didn’t know who I could trust an each had me questioning them. I was compelled to keep flicking the pages on my Kindle to see how this would all unfold and when it was over, I was most surprised by its outcome. I did not see that coming! All up The Therapist is a very enjoyable read which I recommend.

I was very excited to get an advanced copy of this book!!!!! Thank you!!!! B.A.Paris is one of my favorite authors, I always pre-order her books. I bought and read “Behind closed doors”, “The breakdown”, “Bring me back”, “The Dilemma”....getting - copy of “The Therapist” was a happy surprise. I had to start this book a couple of times at first because there were so many characters in The Circle and so many names that I kept loosing track of them and getting confused. As I re-started the book again, I wrote down all of the names and which apartment number they lived in which made everything so much easier after sorting it all out. After that it was a page-turner for me because I kept wondering who is the killer and kept reading chapter after chapter. I finished the book fairly fast. It was like a wild goose chase because Alice suspected so many different people and she felt like she couldn’t really trust anyone and in the end the real murder was....which was definitely not someone I suspected. I loved this book and looking forward many more books written by her!!!!

This was a gripping thriller that kept me on my toes from the very beginning. I read the physical book and listened to the audiobook at the same time, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The book is narrated by Alice, who has recently moved into a lucrative gated community called The Circle with her partner. But soon after moving in she discovers that the house has a grisly past, and she starts to feel a connection with the house’s previous tenant, Nina, who is a therapist. Alice becomes obsessed with trying to figure out what happened to Nina, but all of her neighbors in The Circle are being secretive and hiding something.

I love books where I am speed-reading as fast as I can and internally screaming trying to follow the clues and figure out what’s happening, and this book was all about that. I devoured it, reading it in two days. I HIGHLY recommend this book for any thriller/suspense lover who wants a twisty book where you don’t know who you can trust and what the real truth is!

2.5 ⭐️ It actually took me a while to get into this, I think it may be because I have been eating up crimes and thrillers that are so fast paced and give me whiplash - but this didn’t give that. It was quite slow and I didn’t really enjoy the twist of I’m honest, the way that Alice was just ignored by everyone when she was scared and questioning things just got annoying
