Emma

Of all the Austen books that I have read, I liked this one the least. I cannot stand Emma. She is a meddler, someone who thinks she knows best, and while that is her character (and what drives the plot) I just cannot stand her. This is one of the few books that I started and just couldn't manage to finish. I read enough to know I couldn't stand it, and then put it down and walked away without regrets.

I really enjoyed this book. Pride and Prejudice is still my favorite Jane Austen book, but this one is up there.

It's just a fun book that revolves around community and family, meddling in other people's business, keeping secrets. It's silly but charming.

Main character, Emma, is a spoiled, sheltered young woman from a high-class family. She's pretty clueless about a lot of things, but she means well and is trying to make life better for those around her. I did enjoy her as a character.

Too many character at first but did not disappoint! Immediately followed up with yet another rewatch of Clueless

With only Sense & Sensibility left to go, is it a hot take to say this is my favorite Austen novel?
