This was a pretty interesting book, not sure if I will read on, sci-fi is still not 100% my thing, especially adult science fiction. I love the cover!

3.5 stars, but I'll round it up. I'd read a sequel.

I was convinced I didn't want to keep reading these books until I read the epilogue!!! I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy this more, it was entertaining and I love the plot idea. I just found it impossible to connect with anything really. I kinda wish I had liked this more so I wouldn't have to decided if I should give book 2 a chance or not!!

I listened to this one on audio and I feel like it is one of those which is enhanced by the audio format, as it is structured as a series of interview recordings from a research project.

Every single narrator embodied their character really well, and I particularly enjoyed the performance from the mystery interviewer.

The story starts off quite slowly but it builds in scope, pace and stakes throughout, meanwhile you are getting increasingly attached to certain characters. The concept of the story is really interesting, although you do not really learn much about what is going on in this book so I am really excited to pick up the second one. What you do learn is usually accompanied by a plot twist or pretty major event that had me gasping out loud at times.

I'd recommend this to fans of The Expanse series by James S A Corey, and Children of Times series by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
