an emotional story, and long lost family. I think the 2nd book was so off kilter and this is probably my fave of the three but I'm just,,,, very emotional and so glad everyone got a happy ending.

I enjoyed this, and loved how it caught up with the characters of the first two books. I really felt for the main character, who missed out on knowing his siblings and struggles with severe anxiety and intrusive thoughts. His mental illness is a big focus of the book due to its influence on his internal monologue, which we’re privy to. The central mystery is well handled—and there’s enough magic in the series that we can trust the main character’s experiences aren’t hallucinations.

I liked revisiting Monty and Felicity, as well as seeing their relationship with Adrian bloom. That being said, this felt like 25% longer than it needed to be. While I greatly appreciate the depiction of mental illness, at times I felt the spiraling went on too long. That’s not to say it’s not realistic (in my experience it absolutely is), but I’m not sure it was necessary to get the point across. Or maybe I found it a bit frustrating because it hit close to home. Overall, it was a nice finish to the series.

Probably my favorite of the 3, but still not my favorite books to read. I generally liked them all, but like the rest this one will be pretty forgettable. I appreciated the discussion on mental health struggles (especially as someone who struggles with mental illnesses) and I appreciate the discussion on grief. A good listen overall but could take it or leave it.
