Honestly, the lack of a sex scene really brought my rating down. I do wish I weren’t such a lascivious reader, sigh.

This book read like there was going to be REALLY GOOD spice and then when the moment came they FADED TO BLACK and then had a debrief in the next chapter about what they were thinking and feeling. Really took away from the read to tell me all that rather than show it. And the marketing of the book doesn’t match the lack of spicy pay off. But I LOVED the story and honestly if it weren’t for that one thing it would probably be like 4.5 stars. If you know that going in and your aren’t blindsided like I was, you’ll probably have a great time👍

Ok. So this book surprised me.

I usually cringe a little at a shirtless man cover because well, ya know. It was a bookstagram recommendation and I’m really glad I read it!

I loved it.

A few chapters in you realize why he’s shirtless and it clicks but I won’t spoil it for you. Great world building, amazing pace with sweet moments, action, and adventure. I love Hollen, his integrity and gentle strength added much to the story. Joselyns strength and conviction was admirable if not annoying sometimes. Wyverns! Did I mention them?! This was definitely a five star read, an amazing adventure and I absolutely recommend giving it a shot!

I really enjoyed this one, but I think the pacing was a little off. The story was crafted well enough to have exceptional character development, but I started to get annoyed with the FMC. There were several chapters that I felt were on repeat without adding anything. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to book 2.

If you like: strong female leads, alpha vibes, paranormal with a smidge of fantasy elements.

Book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Chapter 5. Forced marriage and bonding. "Though she lay before him against her will..." hell no. This is gross. No thank you.

Vikings meets the Dothraki from Game of Thrones. With wyverns. And proper devotion to the women.
