2024: DNF only because I got exactly what I needed from the book for a few days: good laughs in a troubling time. I will come back to this again I’m sure.

Yes, I've already read these, but I love them. The audio is excellent, and even has some Andrew Bird music as interludes.
Started with the audiobook but not familiar with this comedian. Honestly didn’t get his humor at all and stopped after an hour of listening

My first book from David Sedaris. This is a compilation of Essays. He is the one reading the Audio book so I'd highly recommend it. He touches upon a wide variety of topics around humans and society. Some of the recurring themes are around family relations, envy/jealousy/social comparison, racism, homophobia. Some of the stories are very personal about his own relationship and his family. Some are more metaphorical of humans and society, through the use of animals. It definitely gets into pretty dark humor but I found that part pretty interesting. Some other stories I didn't really get.

He is so gifted. Loved the audiobook and the interview with him at the end!
Just as the title states, this book represents the best of David Sedaris's writing. If you have a favorite, it is most likely in this collection. As with all his works, I would recommend the audio version just to hear his voice and inflections. Additionally, the audio includes a wonderful interview at the end.
