this book was fine even decent until the end where it was revealed the evil ex husband was of course a closeted gay and it’s heavily implied if not just said outright that the repressed gayness is why he was incredibly abusive and awful. very odd.

This was a cute and sweet romance between a couple of damaged characters with their own traumas. They help each other work through their issues so they can build a beautiful life together.

I liked both of the characters, but it kind of dragged in a couple of parts.

This is a perfect winter, snowed in romance without angst.

A reclusive author rescues an amnesiac woman, and feelings grow. He's not the typical grouchy loner, he's quite sweet and caring, and owns up to his jerk moments. She has such a sad story and she's strong in her own way. It's a bit insta-lovey but I'm not too bothered given the forced proximity and how lonely they are at the core.

I liked all the time they spent trying to uncover her past and growing closer, and how he slowly opens up to her. He's so tender and devoted, all those scenes of him caring for her and protecting her are 😍. The steam is emotional and sensual. The suspense is solid but nothing truly special, and things felt a little rushed towards the end. The writing is also a bit uneven at times (it's a debut, I believe). Bear the dog though, is a total cutie and adds joy to the book.

I was lucky to receive an ARC from MAE book tours.

Joshua Bennett doesn't want anyone near him. He likes his solitude, he just has his dog, Bear, and he's fine with that. When he finds a woman in a car that has crashed on his property he is angry that he has to deal with another person but also he's scared.

We don't know her name for most of the book, she's got amnesia. Joshua calls her Rabbit, and it sticks. She's his Rabbit. Even though he didn't want her there he can help but grow closer to her. They don't know what she was running from but it was something bad if the bruises on her body are any indication.

This book took a little getting in to, he was cruel almost to her at some points. I under stood that. After a couple chapters I couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened that caused Rabbit to run and who had hurt her. I also needed to see if the love that developed between Joshua and Rabbit would get to blossom. It was a great read and I enjoyed it very much! I think you will too. Don't forget to leave the author love in the form of a review!!

NOPE! I can't handle this wishy washy drama! 17% in and Joshua had already pushed her away 3 different times. I'm in, I'm out, I'm in, I'm out. Too much! Esp with everything she's been through!
Can't handle it. So I'm calling it. I'm DNFing at 23% in!

The plot went too quickly. It was like the second day and they were already kissing. The first half of the story is told from Joshua’s point of view, which makes having her POV at the beginning pretty pointless.

The plot that they’re stuck together in a snowstorm is nice. I wish they did more than eat, sleep, bathe, shovel, and mate. Like...it’s getting really repetitive and boring to read. The arguments are always the same. Joshua thinks he has nothing to offer her and doesn’t want to take advantage. Thus he says something rude to change the subject or get her to go away. Rabbit does continuously nice things for someone who doesn’t deserve it.

The characters have no development. Joshua gets mad about something and lashes out at Rabbit, then apologizes. The cycle continues. So Rabbit just went from one abusive relationship to another. And it is abusive. Just emotionally. And Rabbit doesn’t have a personality except that she gets scared super easily and has no backbone.

They have sex every other page. Like...it’s ridiculous. And the writing is really flowery...and descriptive at weird moments? So the sex writing isn’t even good, but there’s so much of it. This book somehow was written for the sex, but it sucks. I’m on page 42 of 391 and I really just can’t take much more of this.

Another thing: Josh says her name in conversation with her way too often. Like...every other sentence he’s saying Rabbit and that is not how people talk.

If Rabbit doesn’t get some backbone...and she doesn’t. Of course not. She just gave up. Even though the only reason she stayed in the relationship before was because she didn’t have anyone to go to. Now she does, so what’s the excuse. It should be super easy to leave this relationship now, because she doesn’t have the love of her husband keeping her here. But instead she just sits and takes it and waits for Joshua to save her. Because heaven forbid she actually sticks up for herself. I hate her character. Truly. She’s weak. She doesn’t even love the man who’s beating her bad she’s still staying.

And then when she gets saved by S
Joshua (because or course she couldn’t help herself) she doesn’t press charges. Which means her husbadcan do this to countless other women.she’s just..so weak I literally cannot with her.

Then Brian comes and confronts Joshua to get his “property” back. I can only suspend my disbelief so far. But anyway the two get in a fight and Josh beats the crap out of him. Rabbit freaks out and is now scared of Josh...again. Even thought we’ve already established like 3 times in this book that he won’t
hurt her.

At this point I’m skipping ahead and reading every three pages. Brian chipped Rabbit, she got pregnant, Josh thinks it’s Brian-because it couldn’t possibly be due to them going at it like animals every five minutes. And also Brian’s charging her with adultery...but watch her still try not to press charges against him for literally drugging and beating her.

There’s a point where they’re discussing baby nicknames: Bunny girl (BG) or Jack Rabbit. I just...I can’t.

This book has all of that Miss Moreland romantic writing. I always find Miss Moreland writing soothing and romantic. Joshua is a loner. After a horrific incident that happens to him, he shuts himself in isolation. He is a best seller mystery writer. Until one day, a woman crashing into his life.

Elizabeth/ rabiit is a victim of domestic abuse. On a fateful stormy night, she runs away from her husband and crashing into Joshua property. The insta love is quick between these two. Into the Storm has a bit of thriller in it. I think Miss Moreland writes this book in respect of her favorite mystery/ thriller author.

The POV is dual but mostly from Joshua. We learn how Joshua character grows into a strong man and overcome his fear to be a better man fro Lizze. And we also see Lizze courage and determination to end her abuse. Its good reading. Perfect for Valentine day.
