Pretty much perfect Rebus that for once does not fizzle out but literally goes with a bang.

It's the first Ian Rankin I'm reading in English and I must say I had some problems with Scottish slang!
It wasn't related to the language, but I though the story was complicated and I was mixing up some characters.(it didn't help that I took a long break of like 3 weeks during my reading)

I'm gradually filling in the series & finally reading some of the early ones I missed. Along with enjoying a good story, it's been interesting to follow the evolution of Rankin's style. On to the next one....

Rebus gets a flat out five. These books are bleak and depressing, but then again so is Scotland. Really good book.

I want an frenemy like Big Ger.

I continue to enjoy Rankin's books. Following Rebus as his life goes on keeps me entertained. Plus the mystery is generally pretty good.
