While I didn't love the overly obvious and predictable ending, I won't dock the book for it because the prose is so incredible I had a love affair with it from the beginning.

I liked this book a lot. It reminded me of Normal People, but with a writing style that really worked for me

I am so torn because I think this writer has something to say in a very unique way...but I just didn't really care about any of the characters and not much happens in it. The concept is very appealing of a person who comes out of blind faith religion and no longer believes who pairs up with someone who experiences a loss and turns to a religious cult to find purpose, but the execution just didn't sustain my interest.

I have mixed feelings about this book.
Will made me uncomfortable to be completely honest. The way he described Phoebe sometimes just gave me serious Joe Goldburg vibes from “You” by Caroline Kepnes
The whole cult aspect I didn’t feel it seemed very “cult” like to me.
Phoebe was to me just another college girl being dumb.
Honestly, this book was a huge let down for me.

Well I didn't finish this, I checked it out as an audio book, only had 35 minutes left, but just couldn't muster the interest to finish it before it needed to get returned. It wasn't horrible, but I just didn't really like any of the characters and if I'm rooting for no one its hard for me to stay interested. So, not a bad book, just not my flavor.

Feeling unsettled.

I enjoyed it but if I would have read the description and expected all that to happen/knew all that was going to happen - I think I would be bored! It’s good though but there is SV in this that’s just like of the scariest order.
