Did I inhale this as fast as I did the others? No. There are a few personal reasons for that, but I think really deep down it was mainly because I didn't want this series to end. I regularly recommend Evie Dunmore to people looking for good historical romance and I will continue to do so until I die. While Lucie and Tristan still hold the title of my favourite story, I saw the most of me in Catriona. Which is a little funny, because when not the star she didn't strike me as very interesting. I stand corrected. She's quiet and reserved but that brain is never not going, and also having kids is a nightmare that would require a very specific partner to make that opinion to change.

Added political context is interesting and the characters are engaging.

I loved the conclusion. I found I didn’t related to Catorina at all, but I loved Elias.

This book was a long one! Some parts of book political ones felt very long-winded. Interactions between Catriona and Elias were fun especially at beginning and the banter was fun. I appreciated the dive into each of the couple's POV and to understand more of who they are as people. In the a really fun historical romance!
