This honestly was not for me. There were a few standouts. The Call of Cthulhu , Herbert West - Reanimator and The Lurking Fear stood out to me as the best stories in this collection but I think here we find a case where the Mythos of Lovecraft might actually be better and more interesting than the stories themselves.
Imposible leerlo rápido, ni aunque este muy interesante, no vas a querer escapar de la atmósfera. Mas que recopilación es un curso a Lovecraft, un tocho que esperas que nunca acabe.
My dad tells me we're related, so now I need to read something by HPL. He suggested "The Shadow Over Innsmouth," one of the novellas in this collection.
The title was right, they're weird stories. Good writer though, they were really great stories to read.
A mixed bag. Probably better read one story here or there, rather than straight through, as many of the stories start to feel repetitive. The style didn't quite work for me, as the stories read like journal entries, with very little dialogue apart from some long monologues, such as Zadok in "The Shadow Over Innsmouth." Most of the protagonists feel like the same author self-insert, with one exception being "The Outsider," which I liked more than most of the stories. Worth reading a few of the stories like the ones mentioned above and the title story.
