WHAT A RIDE. I am absolutely unclear how I am supposed to wait for the next book??? This was e v e r y t h i n g! I was living for the tension between Zabriel and Isovelle, and even though it was a slow burn it was SO STEAMY. It was super well-paced, the world building happened along the way (which I appreciate because when it's super heavy at the beginning it takes me forever to get into), and that ending???? I will be thinking about this for a WHILE (until book 2 is in my hands).

WOW.
❤️🔥Dragons. ❤️🔥Wyrnms. ❤️🔥Dragon riders. ❤️🔥Witches. ❤️🔥Magic. ❤️🔥Fated Mates.
A world so beautifully crafted, a heart beating with intrigue, I was completely engrossed
❤️Non-shifter Omegaverse
❤️Bredding
💓Heats, 💓Knots, 💓Slicks, 💓Nesting
❤️Fated Mates
❤️ J/P OTT protective MMC and Dragon
❤️ Virgin FMC
TW:
🖤 descriptive War violence
🖤Mentions of rape (to someone not FMC or MMC)
🖤 Abuse (physical, mental, emotional)
🖤 Cliffhanger (first book in Trilogy)
In a world where dragons and their riders were just tales told over fires on long winter nights. Isavelle's favorite was of the 'Mountain Prisoner', a fierce dragonrider, and the true ruler of Maledin trapped beneath the Boden Mountains hundreds of years ago. When sge was in despair, Isavelle would wish that the dragons were real and the 'Mountain Prisoner' would come and save her.
About to be sacrificed in the name of God to follow a king in death to the afterlife. Isavelle is bound and gagged, being forcefully dragged to the kings funeral pyre when a dragon lands on it. This event sends her world into war, war of Brethern against dragons, Isavelle against herself, Zabriel against the whole nation, and war against an unknown force of evil... who will priveil?
Zabriel is tentative to Isavelle's needs. He understands even the things she can't say. Isavelle doesn't believe in herself and doesn't really believe that she is an Omega, so she pushes against it. She pushes away from her mate, her dragon, his dragon, and herself. But she never gives up on her designation.
World build: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 The build is amazing. It's a undercurrent that rings through the whole story.
Intrigue: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Characters: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (I know there is more to some of these characters)
Plot:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recieved this as an ARC, this is my honest review.

Slow burn fantasy Omegaverse is a first for me.
Tbh fantasy Omegaverse is a first for me, i love regular Omegaverse so i had to try this out.
Admittedly it took me abit of getting use to but i kept plodding along, the details and storyline was amazing, it felt so real andthe dragons i absolutely loved.
Zabriel we will talk about him first, the alpha has patience in buckets because damn he was so calm with Isavelle, he starts off strong but when he realises the differences between them he has so much understanding. Much more than i did tbh lol!
Isavella, i liked her i really did but gah sometimes i wanted to shake her, like i get it it's a big change and i really get how she acted sometimes but i just wanted her to get the picture faster, which is a moot point really since it's a slow burn.
I really liked the world building and everything and I'm definitely in need of the second book after that cliffhanger!

"He snatched me from the jaws of death for one reason- to be his."
I was enthralled since the very first page of this book. It transports you to a sheer new world where there's an infiltrated kingdom, an army of dragons and their riders, an infuriatingly sexy alpha and his fated mate omega who has no idea that the stories told about their kind are real. It was very nice to see the world from Isavelle's perspective. How she adapted to the change and slowly got to know more about Zabriel as they spent more time together was fascinating. Zabriel was mighty, powerful and smart but he was also a goner for Isavelle. Sometimes the things he said made me instantly blush and swoon and I LOVED HIM!!! It was a slow burn because understandably, it took Isavelle some time to adjust in her new territory she was drawn into. Although I am not very fond of some side characters yet, the most adorable part of this book were Zabriel & Isavelle's dragons, they were just so stinking cute! The plot immersed me in its charm and I just couldn't put the book down until I had finished it. Overall, the book was addictive and engrossing and I cant wait to read the next book asap because that cliffhanger has left me on the edge of my seat.
I received an ARC in exhange of an honest review
