Southern comfort, food and charm all wrapped up in a book less than 350 pages. We follow two ladies, Anna Kate & Natalie who are connected in a way neither of them imagined. I didn’t grow up in a small town but every time I read about them, they always seem to have a quaint charm about them that only the locals / natives can appreciate. I definitely want to visit one now. The magical realism is light enough that it didn’t overpower the story and even though death is a prescience, there is still joy to be found with the living.
