OMG THIS WAS SO GOOD. I did not want to put it down. The storytelling was fantastic and the hint of magic was perfect. Plus there was a bit of a twist I wasn't expecting (hint has to do with cafe worker couple). HIGHLY recommend

I figured out 20 pages in that this author is not from the South. Look, I'm not one of those folks who thinks you have to stay inside your own experience, but it shouldn't be so obvious it's not your experience.  Also, there are literal magic black people who help the white people find love and happiness. Gag.

This book was utterly charming and so enjoyable. I loved how southern it was and I loved the slightly magical world it created. A lot of sweet thoughts about love, loss, healing, and family. Would recommend to anyone.

I was in the mood for a sweet, cozy book with some magical realism and this fulfilled that craving!
