I really enjoyed how realistic this entire book was, these characters felt like real people you would find in a random sydney sharehouse/rave/beach/theater ect.. I enjoyed the sisterly dynamics between Eleanor and Charlie, as well as the eventual growth & self-awareness that all characters experienced
I really loved the plot, and all the drama that was revolving around Eleanor and Charlie's lives, but I did find the start of the book to be pretty slow. I also did struggle with the writing at times, for instance, I sometimes found it difficult to recognise who was speaking, but other than that I had no major complaints

Dislikable characters, made poorer for the comparison with Sally Rooney - in Rooney’s books there is at least a compelling reason to read about her characters doing nothing. In Reid’s most recent book the characters lack depth and clear motivation. Drag to finish.

I really enjoy Reid’s writing overall. I love the relationships she creates between characters and how she slowly lets you in on more about them through conversation. Although overall I found the subject matter to be pretty meh it was still a fun and easy read.
