This book had me shaking. Maas’s stories are masterfully written and incredibly intense. The last 20% of the book I was holding it with white knuckles. I had read ACOTAR last summer and it was incredible, but I didn’t feel a pull to start immediately reading ACOMAF. I hadn’t quite understood the hype around the series until now. That being said, it is a very intense read with mature themes.

Good book, looking forward to the next one. It starts off kind of slow and you hate rhys, but as the book continues more things make sense. And you hate tamlin. There are some dull parts, but the second half of the book picks up. I would recommend this one

After the first book in this series, I did not want Feyre to be with anyone but Tamlin and could not imagine how she would ever willingly end up with Rhysand. However, as the audience learns alongside Feyre of Rhysand’s true nature, his real home, and his deepest motivations, it becomes clear to both reader and Feyre why one could feel drawn to the High Lord of the Night Court, and it becomes even more immediately obvious when it is revealed that
Rhysand and Feyre are fated mates
who actually like each other. Beyond the romance, it was entertaining to learn more about Velaris, the Night Court, and those who composed the inner circle. Similarly to the first novel, Feyre reaches within to hone her strength and fights selflessly for those she loves, protecting strangers and family members alike; the sacrifices and choices she makes continue to serve the greater good of Prythian and beyond. My only gripe with the story is that the middle felt rather slow and tedious, as Feyre is essentially just completing various side quests. However, I came to appreciate these tales later in the plot when their relevance was explained. Overall, I am thrilled with where the story has gone and am excited to read the next installment of this series!

While the story is good, I would not recommend this to anyone with sexual trauma or an abusive person in their life as this book will likely be very upsetting. Trigger warning: explicit sex scenes (several that can be skipped), abuse, torture, returning to abuser, sex work, assault is hinted at, PTSD, violence
