I liked that the MFC wasn’t super helpless or whiny. She rolled with the punches and did what she needed to “play their games”. Just so happened that the games were lots of smut! Would have liked more character development and world building but if you are in it for the smut this is your read!

I don't usually read spicy books but was in a mood and someone recommended this as a decent standalone

I tore through this book like a box of chocolate croissants! I got sucked in right away by the way these characters loathed each other. However, there were issues.

The story was muddled and the middle section was boring and I wanted it to end. Once I got past that the rest was once again compulsively readable. I did find some of the plot a bit convoluted and not well explained and again, the middle part just didn't convince me. It's hard to explain why without spoilers but it was obviously something needed to drive the plot and just wasn't well executed from a character standpoint.

Anyway, this was a decent read overall although idk how it compares to others Romantasy novels since I don't usually read them.
