A stunning exploration of death and the grief that accompanies it. The slow pace allows small moments to carry the heavy emotional weight of the story without it feeling overwhelming. Frieren's growing realization that she failed to connect with those she cared about before it was too late is equal parts devastating and relatable. If only we could all explore our regrets in a fantasy world.

Thought it'd take longer for the plot to get started but this book surprised me.
