At a loss for words to accurately explain just how much I adored this book, and although I hesitate to say this before reading a few more volumes of this wonderful series, I think this might just be my favourite manga of all time. It's so heartfelt, deep and mature, whilst also inventively taking a series of fantasy tropes that we've seen a thousand times before and creating something so new and fresh.

I love that grief, friendship and the tragedy of love are all at the centre of this story. What memory means, what it means to have connected with someone, what it means to live life at your own pace.

Can't wait to continue on reading, I think there's something truly magical in this story and characters (particularly Frieren, of course).
