This book was pretty cute and I loved the addition of the dog as a connecting factor in their friendship and later their relationship. I don’t read too many friends to lovers kind of books, but this was nice and it truly felt that they connected as friends and built their romantic relationship off this. The setting of the book was cute and it sounds like somewhere I would want to visit.

I did not like the whole bet sort of thing as it reminded me of After and I just hate that whole deception storyline. Plus there was minor cheating in this which I didn’t vibe with. I didn’t connect with the characters much and this made the book feel like it dragged on. I just don’t know if they were genuinely good and right for each other, like they were so different and argued all the time.

Anyway, they had some cute moments and I’d definitely read the other books to get more insight into the town and all the relationships and friendships within it.

Good girl complex - ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

🌶️This is a casual summer read, I picture it like episodes of outer banks. There were a couple moments that gave me pause or the ick, but I was invested in the story and getting to the pivitol moments. I'm a super fan of elle kennedy hockey stories, so this was a nice surprise to see her writing in another setting. I still enjoyed it. The only other negative for me was there were way too many side characters that never gave me reason to care about.
