Anything by this author is an automatic win for me.
Her writing style is brilliant, I’m so sucked in immediately.
She doesn’t shy away from having imperfect characters but manages to keep them likable.
I was so frustrated for Cat though in this book, she was done dirty by both her sisters and I’m surprised she managed to forgive, honestly

Thoroughly average. You'll read it, enjoy it, maybe feel deflated by the flat ending a bit, then forget it.
Three sisters--triplets--lead seemingly ideal lives, but when their world start to shatter, they find their 'ideal' may not be what they really want. The true ideal may be something else. A lot of missed opportunities but generally inoffensive. Doesn't inspire me to return to it, but it's a decent kettle-boiler.

My reactions
Moriarty excels at exploring relationships within an ensemble group of characters. Here she looks at the Kettle sisters, a set of adult triplets, their partners and their parents. As she did in [b:Big Little Lies|19486412|Big Little Lies|Liane Moriarty|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1492239430l/19486412._SY75_.jpg|27570886] Moriarty begins at the end, and then backtracks to lead us up to that climactic event.
It's a story of sibling rivalry, and love found / lost / and found again. These girls will fight about just about anything in their quest to prove the point that “I am the most put upon.” There were scenes that appalled me with how badly the sisters treated one another or a significant other. I did get a little irritated by how immaturely they behaved at times. On the other hand, there were scenes that caused me to chuckle at the humor in the situation. And scenes where I clearly sympathized with one or the other’s point of view. Kind of like a real family…
On the whole, it’s a fast read and quite entertaining.
Heather Wilds does a fine job narrating the audiobook. She sets a good pace and did an admirable job of voicing the girls. Of course, there were times I had to “rewind” or refer to the text to be sure I had it straight which character was speaking

There were both good and bad elements to this book. I related so well to the characters, being one of three sisters who are very close it was easy to see the events of the book through the characters eyes, but this also made their actions so much more irritating and unbelievable at times. The discussion of toxic and abusive relationships was handled well - Moriarty continues to develop nuanced characters who represent the broader aspects of human intimacy and how this is affected negatively by abuse. The family dynamics in the book were interesting but I often found characters blurring into one another at times which is disappointing because I usually find Moriarty's unique characters to be her strong suit. In a book about triplets, I often felt I was reading about twins or simply one really annoying person. The plot was lacking at times and the pacing seemed to drag in parts and race in others. Not my favourite of her books, but still a solid read.
