I was excited and sad to read Book 5 because it's the last book in this adorable series. Just when you don't think it could get any sweeter or any more loveable, it does just that, and more! I was even more excited to find out that there will be a Book 6 coming October 2025! I can hardly wait to see what else is in store for Holly and her family, both blood and chosen. This would make for a cute TV series around the holidays. I would watch it for sure!
Jacqueline Frost just can't lose with this series. It's another 5 star cozy Christmas mystery for Holly and her family. This has all your favourite characters from the other books and all the Christmas fun and cheer that you can imagine. The town is decorated like a Victorian village for the holidays. The farm is busy with Reindeer Games. Holly is behind on cards, wrapping and even shopping, like she always is and of course to top it off, there's a murder. I could and would happily read these every Christmas for as long as the author would like to write them. What a great way to get in the Christmas spirit and to feel jolly no matter what's happening in the world.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advance copy.

We are back in Mistletoe, Maine and this year the Historical Society are celebrating the towns 150th Anniversary, they have invited one of the towns founding family the Snows to come back for the event. To help the celebrations and help get Mistletoe back on the map Holly’s Mum decides to try and bake the world’s biggest gingerbread man.
However, being Mistletoe things do not go to plan and when Mr Snow’s body is found in the gingerbread batter the hunt for the killer starts. Mr Moore the local Mistletoe farmer is accused of being the killer Holly gets back to her sleuthing ways. Her time is full what with running the Inn, which is full, planning her 1st year Wedding Anniversary, helping with the Reindeer Games and helping with the local toy drive.
When she starts getting threatening messages and the killer breaks into her home, Holly knows she has to work quickly before she is the next victim.
I love Holly as a character, she is so caring and wants to make everyone’s life easier and happier. Her friends are great, they look out for her and help her sleuthing. We can’t not mention Theodore, he is such a sweet gentleman and now that he has a wife will there be kids on the way?

Oh Dang, Jacquline Frost has done it again! Another 5 star read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Admittedly, the first three fourths of this book was a little more mellow than past books, BUT that’s because you’re on a stress filled roller coaster at the end

B&B Cozy Mystery that follows a Maine innkeeper who turns sleuth after a body's dumped into the batter of her mother's attempt at baking the world’s largest gingerbread man.
5/5 stars: This is the fifth entry in Frost's Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series which is a B&B Cozy Mystery set during the holiday season in a Maine seasonal tourist town and features an innkeeper who runs the B&B on her family's Christmas tree farm. When the local mistletoe farmer's accused of killing a founding family descendant, she reprises her role as amateur sleuth to uncover the Grinch who dumped the dead man into the batter of her mother's attempt at baking the world’s largest gingerbread man. In between hosting the decease's mother and other guests at her inn, preparing for her first wedding anniversary and receiving threatening messages from the killer she might need a Christmas miracle. With plenty of twists and turns, Frost has masterfully crafted a mystery that deftly balances the suspects, clues and red herrings and will leave you pondering the whodunit until the final reveal. Heartfelt and humorous, Frost's writing and character work are brilliant; the characters are well-rounded and complex while remaining incredibly likable. It's a joy to catch up with Holly, her friends and parents at Reindeer Games Christmas Tree Farm and the town folks of Mistletoe. I love seeing how happy she is with her Sheriff husband, Evan. Oh and of course we can't forget Holly's perfectly named feisty rescue cat, Cindy Lou Who. I adore the small town holiday-filled atmosphere of the inn and Christmas tree farm and always get a kick out of the Reindeer Games hi-jinks. While you could read this as a stand-alone, you'll gain so much more by reading the series from the beginning; so be sure to pick up book one, [b:Twelve Slays of Christmas|34507286|Twelve Slays of Christmas (A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery, #1)|Jacqueline Frost|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1501492726l/34507286._SY75_.jpg|55633168]. TW: Ruined baked goods. Also captivity and fire.
This is a really wholesome read, I enjoyed it as a palate cleanser after some really heavy books. This book has such a great community written in it, and I love the whole family. Every character is so well crafted and lovely. I really like the goats. :)
The mystery was great, it keeps you guessing and really takes the time to show angles.
This is great if you like Agatha Christie mixed with Donna Andrews.
Thank you for the ARC!

Christmas at Reindeer Games is always festive and familial unfortunately paired with murder. This delightful cozy is a perfect way to satisfy your sleuthing prowess in the holiday season. Mystery is fair .and the characters are interesting. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

It’s Christmastime in Mistletoe, Maine, and Jacqueline Frost delivers another delightful, murder-filled holiday adventure in the fifth installment of the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. This time, the town’s 150th anniversary festivities take a dark turn when a larger-than-life gingerbread man becomes the scene of a very real crime.
Holly White is back and as charming as ever. Her knack for balancing sleuthing with her responsibilities at the family’s Christmas tree farm continues to make her a relatable and engaging protagonist. In this installment, Frost’s signature blend of small-town coziness, quirky characters, and a dash of suspense shines brighter than ever. The idea of a gingerbread man crime scene is both clever and darkly humorous, a perfect touch for fans of holiday mysteries that don’t shy away from unexpected twists.
The story is saturated with festive cheer—snow-covered streets, twinkling lights, and the tantalizing aroma of baked goods practically waft off the pages. Frost captures the Christmas spirit with an overload of holiday details, and for fans of this series, it feels like coming home.
Beyond the cozy atmosphere, the murder mystery is compelling, with enough red herrings and suspects to keep readers guessing. Holly’s relationships with the town’s eclectic residents deepen, giving a heartwarming sense of community even amidst the intrigue. Frost’s ability to seamlessly blend a puzzling crime with the joys (and chaos) of the holiday season is what makes her books so addictive.
For fans of cozy mysteries, Jacqueline Frost remains a top-tier author in the genre. Her stories are perfect for curling up with under a blanket, with a cup of cocoa in hand. I'll Be Home for Mischief continues the tradition of delivering heartwarming, festive murder mysteries that are as comforting as they are thrilling. If you’ve followed the series so far—or are just discovering it—you’re in for a treat.
