"Hard Choices" was interesting. Sometimes, it did read like a resume, and maybe it was her intent to show the country and the world how qualified she was to be the future commander-in-chief. There's no disputing her qualifications. The politics, on the other hand, is what confused me. She evidently championed human rights, especially women and girls and the LGBT community across the world, but on the other hand, sometimes it read like she was a globalist who valued the welfare of American corporations over individuals.
Closer to a 3.5 than a 4. Lots of interesting insights but I was expecting more tales rather than descriptions of countries and the situations they are facing. Also, really really long.
600 pages and she never once mentions her emails! Guess they weren't as important as everyone made them out to be?!
In all actuality, this is an incredibly dense and thorough look at Hillary's time as Secretary of State. It probably won't hold a lot of interest for the average reader as it does get very bogged down in policy and diplomacy talks which might bore anyone but the most political savvy people.
This really should have been required reading for all eligible voters before they were allowed to cast their votes. Maybe the results would have been different? Sigh. The fact of the matter is is that Hillary often had to make some tough decisions as Secretary of State. Some of which weren't the right ones. She admits to her mistakes and explains the rationale behind them. This book made me admire her even more than I already did. It made me respect her and appreciate her more than I already did. There's a reason why I've been a proud supporter of hers for so long now.
I'm glad I read this. I wish I had read it sooner not because it would have changed my vote but because it would have given me even more insight into her political reasonings.
I'm even more proud than ever to be With Her after reading this. She truly is an inspiration and this book only made me sad for our country that we didn't elect her. A true loss for us all.

Love her or hate her, you cannot possibly argue that over nearly four decades of service, she hasn't had a positive impact on the world.
I think I'm gonna call it now. It's not that this is bad, it's just impersonal. The facts are interesting, but I expected more personal recollections from someone who was right there in the thick if it.
Very interesting take from Hillary on her time as Secretary of State. It's a well-written account of our country's government, with a focus on international relations. She obviously cannot be totally honest about her perspectives on different foreign leaders and countries, but she is pretty forthright in certain sections. I came away from it with a better appreciation for Hillary and her lifetime of public service. She has clear convictions, a sense of humor, and a core belief in the rights of all humans everywhere. It held my interest throughout all 21 discs of the audiobook-- pretty impressive for an autobiography, or any non-fiction for that matter.
It was a little daunting at times, but I am so glad I read it. It was 100% worth the read.
Perhaps the most frustrating thing is reading this book 7 years after its release, knowing everything that went down in the interim, and reading just how qualified Clinton was to lead with confidence, especially given the relationships she forged worldwide. While the writing itself is a bit stiff, this gave us a glimpse into how much Hillary cares about her family, her work, and her nation.
