2.0

I can see why ppl like this book. It has all the ingredients to make a decent love story but it was not executed well TO ME. I'll give the 2nd book a chance and maybe read another series of her to see if my problem is this story or if it's simply her writin is not for me

Okay let's get the good things out of the way:

• I loved the banter at the start of this story. Both leads have a dynamic that you can tell that they aren't each other's fan and as they go along planning the wedding they clash and it is rather interesting

• The relationship between the sisters was cute and they made the book a bit more tolerable you know

• it is a love story, I guess, like yeah

Now the bad:
These two leads are NOT meant to be together and they should not have been forced to be you know. They're incompatible and the "groveling" that he does is not validating enough especially when they had the conversation (about the issue that led to the grovelling) at least twice before so.....

The language used is so bad because what is "unleashed male hunger" and how does "pure male satisfaction" glinter from someone's eye? There are some gender norms which are simply stuffed down your throat and any book that uses the word "females" unironically when referring to an adult and a 5 year old girl Is not one I can take seriously

I am all
for the anger and hurt that was felt because of his father's suicide but naming his father week because he could not handle his grief??? And then using that as an excuse to not love again????"

The smut wasn't even that good to make up any of its flaws and that's even sadder. The least you can do when you have a shaky plot is have good smut scenes
