Fun, in a sense of look at all the copyright-free tales we get to trample upon, but otherwise a bit annoying and too self aware for its own good.

it was fun, but a little longer than absolutely necessary. and while i loved the characters and enjoyed the story, i will most definitely not be reading the 700 page long sequel 😭 the writing was a little annoying, esp the constant dialogues from the present characters —

also, just found out the author is originally hungarian so that’s fun!!

Whomp whomp. This one fell flat for me. I was pumped about this and had heard so much love for it. And while the premise and the union of all these different narratives was entertaining, the book also slogged and was very slow at times. I liked all of the characters individually for who they were, but I didn’t feel that found family coziness that you were supposed to feel.
