I really liked the book but I kept feeling like I had read it before with all the past history included. Might have been less a stand alone book but also less tedious without that bit. All in all a great ead.
Fang and Aimee are AWESOME!!!!!! This story was Great in my favorites.
Splendid. Superb. Amazing.
Of course! All adjectives that more than describe all of Sherri's work, but Bad Moon Rising BLEW me away! Not only did I absolutely love Fang and Aimee's story, which was wonderfully written, with perfect pacing (as always)added with explosive humor and action but...I was surprised! Many a shocking details blew me away.
One: Fang was NOT in a coma during Night Play. He was half-dead, beings that his soul was partially consumed by the daimons that night he and his brother Vane had been a hangin' on the tree.
Two: Fang sold his soul. Yep. It's gone and NOW belongs to this new guy (well, new to us the readers anyway) Thorn. He's a big question mark. Good guy? Bad guy? Bad guy wanting to be good? We totally don't know, and everything's he's said and done could totally go either way in the story!
Three: Ma and Papa Bear die!!!! I know, totally sad and BEYOND heart wrenching!
Four: Sanctuary looses it's license as a sanctuary! Ga. Beyond crazy
Five: Fang gets demonically possessed and quite possibly killed a load of people in Night Play, not by his own will mind you.
... Okay. So there were like hella more but GOD I loved this book!!!! Honestly, with every new release I think "damn, I can't love this series any more!" Trust me. I'm totally proven wrong!

I’m finished. Once again I spoke too soon and I was baffled by this book.
I liked it. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a SK book and liked it so much.
That ending surprised me. A Lot. This is one of the most tragic books DH series has. Everything just happens at the same time. And the situation reaches a point that it’s so bad it appears that there is no solution what so ever for it.
And once again SK knows how to amaze her fans. Twisting everything – we see everything come back into place, where it’s supposed to.
Certainly the last thing I expected was that Fang killed a demon and absorbed all of his powers even risking becoming its evil essence.
I liked the fact that in this book we read about events that have already happen previously in the series but we now have the possibility to read about the same events but under a different perspective. I really liked it.
I was so blindfolded in the other books. Really this book enlightened me in a way I never thought it would.
I always liked Aimee and for this first time I met Fang I thought they were perfect for each other. Really – she is the only girl who can understand and bear with Fang’s sarcasm.
The whole comatose status Fang went through is amazingly structured and his recovery too.
Their relationship is wonderful. Because of the lack of a physical relationship they’ve created an emotional bond between them that is so strong, it’s just beautiful to read – and watch.
On the other side it’s awesome to see another perspective of Vane and Fang’s relationship. And seeing Fang dealing with Fury – well, WOW.
About Thorn: I was so curious about him. I actually have faith in his good will, but you never know, right? And Ravenna and Zeke sounded so confident in their arguments. I really don’t know if I trust him or not.
As to Nicolette…I still don’t give a damn about her. She just keeps irritating me…although she has succeeded in amaze me.
I can understand her actions. I really do. But for the first moment I’ve met her, I took a strong dislike for her. I hate what she did to Wren and to the Kattalakis pack.
But I can’t really judge an overprotective mother, can I?
And in the end, she just wasn’t Nicolette. That attitude was so out of character.
Ok, her attitude was honorable but it just didn’t seem like her.
There was a sentence in the book that made it all worth it.
" We have three kinds of family. Those we are born to, those who are born to us, and those we let into our hearts."

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
After years of starting this series and becoming totally addicted to the cheesy-fun nature of vampires and werewolves in New Orleans, I decided to pick up where I left off for something comfortable and easy. I found myself missing so many of the characters, the southern setting, and stories where there is always a happily-ever-after.
Our main characters in this story were Fang and Aimee, some side-characters that we had always glimpsed in the background and knew that they had a love story happening in-between the lines, and I was always excited to get to this story as I was really fond of these two and wanted to know how their love story would work out!
Sadly, I was pretty disappointed with this entry. This series is either a big hit or a big miss with me, and this book had a really specific problem that I did not foresee going into it. As Fang and Aimee's storyline was told throughout this entire series, we only got to see really small snippets of how their love story evolved after several years. Although I really admire the fact that this wasn't one of those "we-fell-in-love-and-got-married-a-week-later" type of stories, and their story was years in the making, there were so many time jumps in this story reviewing what we already knew from previous books, without the actual context of the previous entries. Because of this, a lot of their love story was glazed over because it had already been touched on, and we were faced with the B-plot for nearly the entirety of the book. Sadly, I enjoyed these characters a lot more as side-characters and wish we got more of them together, trying to make their relationship happen despite Aimee's family's disapproval., but this really only happened in the last 50 or so pages.
Regardless, this book had all of the same story beats that I was missing and I did enjoy revisiting it! The Dark-Hunter series will always have a special place in my heart regardless of its cheesiness and it's something that I'm happy to go back to!

I had a couple of problems with this one. The time line was a bit confusing at first (we are thrown way into the past to see how Amiee and Fang's relationship started) and we aren't given any indication that they'll be able to have children, and the heroine is given a ring with a big deal made of it that is never seen again. Kenyon introduces us to yet another group of hunters, but makes a valid point in the book saying that there are many demons, therefore there are many demon hunters. I do think she could afford to slow down on her rapid introduction of new characters though. She has plenty of strong male and female leads to choose from for future stories without throwing a dozen new ones into each book. I never really got into the central romance, but enjoyed the world building when Kenyon finally finished rehashing old storylines for much of the book. Not the best DH and I hope with the next one Kenyon returns us solidly into new material. I was a bit dismayed to see at the end of the book that Nick's story is going to be Young Adult fiction. I have hopes that this doesn't mean watered down, but I suspect it does.
Fang and Amy, FINALLY! It was good. SPOLIERS
Mama Peltier was like a whole 'nother person. Well, a bigger character with more layers than we were previously exposed to. Makes me wonder how she bullshitted so many. Anywho, I like how many previously, tertiary and further background characters got to shine in this one.
Doing this review way after I read the book because 1) I wasn't on goodreads back then and 2) I'm wondering what this Hellchaser series is that I didn't cop to until it was explicitely stated for the newest book, Son of No One, with characters we've never met.

Fang Kattalakis is the son of one of the most powerful were-hunters, he's a shapeshifting wolf and he's an angry man. There's a war against the lycanthropes and he's involved and he has to pick a side, his choices will change his life forever.
Aimee is a bear shifter and she has multiple problems, the least of which is her mother, who wants to see her married to a bear. When she finds herself attracted to a wolf she's confused, this is not something she wanted. Can she resist?
I liked the two of them, willing to fight for and with each other and willing to do a lot to help others, even if they both have hard shells, they're soft hearted and want to do the best they can.
I enjoyed it, a lot happens in this story that reflects a few other books and issues and things are going to cascade from this and be interesting.
