I think im just too old for the intended audience.  Would have loved as a young teen though

Flow of writing is slow at first and then rushes into the action all at the end, which is similar to the rest of the author's books.

Read them both! Amazing storytelling start to finish . I jumped into this book within literal minutes of finishing the first one because I needed more of this story and these characters. The deeper dive and intertwining of mythology in this book was a wonderful surprise . I was on my seat edge til the last moment . Brava to this author !

This was a great read and a satisfying conclusion after This Poison Heart! I actually enjoyed This Wicked Fate more than This Poison Heart. There was a lot more mythology in book than the first, so if you enjoyed that about the first book, then this one will definitely please you. All of our favorite characters from the first book returned and it was great to see how this story concluded.

I've been really excited to read this book since finishing the first in the series earlier this year. And first thing I have to say is that I did enjoy it, but it just wasn't as great as I would like. I still felt like the romance was weird. Some things that they did felt unnecessary, and other things felt really convenient. Oh and in general it felt like there were too many characters that we were trying to keep track of. Several times I found myself thinking, 'wait, who's that?'. I think the amount of people may have been better suited for a longer series.

The family aspect was nice, the mythology and epic goal was nice. The pacing was good, since it felt like something interesting was happening at most times. I'm happy I read it, just a little disappointed that I didn't love it.
