A slight letdown, given how much I absolutely adored the first book in this duology. It felt like everything I really loved about the first book was gone and this was a standard YA fantasy plot. I still love the characters and the general plot.

I adore this book. It's a good conclusion to the duology. The characters were good and their relationships were great. I enjoyed the plot.

It's been a while since I read the first book in this series, and I feel like I need to reread it first before attempting this one again, so I can see how they fit together. Until then, I feel like any rating I give this one might not be fair.

Loved this so much! Such a great end to the story though I would love to see more books based on this world because I didn’t want it to end 😭 Can’t recommend this duology enough. Highly recommend!

Literally a fantastic ending to an out of this world story. Let me leave you with the two quotes that impacted me most in this story. Both are from Briseis narrating:

"This was a hero’s quest and something would have to be lost."

"I was the seed set in the soil, nurtured by the love of my family, and allowed to grow, to stretch, to reach for the sun."
