A lonely 16 year old child of divorce who's being actively bullied in school stumbles on an underground dance club and becomes a DJ through the help of a pretty annoying too-old fuckboy, which simultaneously gives her more confidence and causes a lot of drama. Listening to it as an adult I recognized him for what he was immediately, and I just kept wanting to shout oh, honey, no.
There's pretty graphic and repeated discussion of cutting/suicidal ideation, please be warned! I wasn't expecting it going in.
