I was really hoping to enjoy this book, and I really dreaded reading it. It was slow, it was chaotic on the ADHD level. I don’t think it really needed to be set in the 90s, nor did I enjoy the ended. It was predictable, but not at the same time. I really had a hard time feeling sorry for Franny. She’s an aspiring actress but doesn’t know anything about callbacks, agency’s or managers? The whole book bothered me, and I ended up skipping parts closer to the end of the book

I'm hovering between a 3 and 4 star rating, which I figure makes this book a solid 3.5 stars.
It wasn't what I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it. For some reason I was thinking that it was going to be more of a Sophie Kinsella kind of silly romp, and it was much more mature than that (yet still silly).
Because I listened to the audiobook I had the pleasure of the author reading it herself, which I felt added something to the reading that I don't think I would have gotten had I read it on my own. I really felt like I "got" Frannie's struggle and her desire to do right by her own truths. I really did like the ending, which I thought summed things up nicely, and I'm curious to see if Lauren Graham will write any more of Frannie's story later on.
Overall it was a nice listen, if only just a rambling. (Something that can be frustrating, but also something I can appreciate! ;) )

I have to bump this up to 3.5 because, though it was a light read and very predictable, I was glued to it! Very entertaining. A nice respite from some of the denser books I am currently reading. Oh, and I love Lauren Graham! Fun to hear her read the Audible version.

I almost couldn't finish this. Love LG but the plot was centered around a cripplingly insecure unreliable narrator or who was borderline unlikable . The plot went nowhere and the ending was predictable.
