Good legal thriller. Hard to keep up with the acronyms if you aren't inside Washington D.C. Interesting plot and terrorist attack premise.

Some time has passed since I read the first book in this series, so I’d forgotten some of the finer points and characters from that story that showed up in this story. The author does a fair job getting the reader caught back up with the necessary info to be able to move through this adventure with Avery Keene and her cohorts. The action is fast-paced, exciting, scary (because it could happen?), and draws enough from current political situations that it is believable.

This novel is packed with research into cybersecurity and the governments response to threats. Oh yes and throw in some engineering info about the grid and impeachment processing.
It's shallow and filled with acronyms.

Similar to the first book, While Justice Sleeps, I think this series just isn't my taste and I want that to be clear in my review. Abrams' writing utilizes complex concepts (political, chess, etc) that may intrigue some, but were just one part of the story for me.

Rogue Justice includes a large cast of characters, some of whom appear in multiple scenes and some of whom are only to provide context for the bigger picture. I had difficulty keeping everyone straight and at no point was I invested enough to start a list of each new appearance.

As with the first novel, the ending and reveal of motive was the most enthralling part to me, and I wish that emotion was as high during the rest of the book. The plot is fairly technical and I think it would benefit in embracing the everyday human aspects of the story, not just the elevated political themes.
